Lava is again in the news with the launch of its cheapest
quad core processor smartphone. Lava has launched Iris 458q that is powered by
a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and is available for Rs.8,999.
The phone features a 4.5 inch capacitive touch screen with a
resolution of 480 X 854 pixels. The best point is that it runs on latest
Android 4.2 (Jelly bean). The phone’s internal memory is merely 4 GB that can
be increased upto 32 GB with an external memory card. The Ram is
disappointingly 512 MB. So, you will not get a very smooth performance from the
phone.
Lava Iris 458q features an 8 MP primary camera with
auto-focus, face detection and LED flash. There is a VGA front camera too for
video calling. You can record HD videos with the primary camera.
From connectivity point of view, the phone has 3G, EDGE,
micro USB, Bluetooth v3 and A-GPS. The phone has a 2000 mAh battery that gives
a talk time of 10 hours on 3G network.
